چکیده
In this study, the Bragg resonance of water waves scattered by multiple permeable thin barriers over a series periodic breakwaters was solved employing eigenfunction matching method (EMM). The geometrical configuration divided into shelves separated steps, on which were implemented. solution approximated using eigenfunctions with unknown coefficients that considered as amplitudes for each shelf. conservations mass and momentum then applied to form system linear equations, sequentially sparse-matrix solver. proposed degenerates traditional EMM formulations if barriers, permeability barrier, or bottom undulations are not considered. validity suggested examined based results in literature. resonances bottom-standing, surface-piecing, fully submerged trapezoidal half-cosine studied. addition, breakwater amplitudes, parameters incident angles wave scattering different types discussed.

Periodic waves in fiber Bragg gratings.
We construct two families of exact periodic solutions to the standard model of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with Kerr nonlinearity. The solutions are named "sn" and "cn" waves, according to the elliptic functions used in their analytical representation. The sn wave exists only inside the FBG's spectral bandgap, while waves of the cn type may only exist at negative frequencies (omega<0), both insid...

Article history: Received 19 October 2007 Received in revised form 19 February 2008 Accepted 20 February 2008 Available online 18 April 2008 This paper concerns the behaviour of nonlinear regular waves interacting with rectangular submerged breakwaters. A new series of experimental results is presented and compared with numerical calculations based upon a Boundary Element Method (BEM) that util...
متن کاملDiffraction of water waves by a segmented permeable breakwater
The linearized theory of water waves is used to examine the diffraction of an incident wave by a permeable breakwater that consists of a number of distinct elements. Under the assumption that the wavelength is much greater than the thickness, each element is replaced by a thin structure and the permeability is modeled by a suitable boundary condition applied on its surface. The diffracted wave ...
متن کاملLocal polariton modes and resonant tunneling of electromagnetic waves through periodic Bragg multiple quantum well structures
We study analytically defect polariton states in Bragg multiple quantum well structures and defect-induced changes in transmission and reflection spectra. Defect layers can differ from the host layers in three ways: exciton-light coupling strength, exciton resonance frequency, and interwell spacing. We show that a single defect leads to two local polariton modes in the photonic band gap. These ...
